FSA provided oversight services at critical milestone achievements throughout the duration of the project. Our BECx activities consisted of design review, submittal review, creating a BECx plan and specification sections, periodic site reviews, progress meetings and specific performance testing events including whole building air leakage testing.
The facility is a one-storey, industrial, pre-engineered, site fabricated metal building system on a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade. It is rectangular in footprint and employs prefinished metal ‘skinned’ insulated metal panels for both roof and cladded wall coverings mounted to structural steel framing. The building exhibits no fenestration but does utilize overhead and standard egress doors, and unique integrated removable test aperture openings for experimentation. The facility will be used to study, test and monitor heat transfer in prototype building enclosure systems and technologies in extreme environmental conditions.
